As an Airstream Trailer owner, I have looked at numerous HF intallations of
every conceivable arrangement and antenna configuration.
After studying the equipment available, I chose the FT-100 and ATAS-100
antenna system. The radio remotes nicely in the dining area of our trailer.
I like the ATAS-100 because it allowed for a "lighter" mounting than I would
have gotten with a D&K or High Sierra screwdriver antennas (both highly
popular with rv'ers) not to mention the "autotuning" feature.
The FT-100 allows the combination of HF and 2M which are important for me
when rv-ing. My installation is "permanent" (ie never leaves the trailer)
so the FT-100 is the perfect solution to my problem. Highly favorable
reports from owners and my positive experiences with Yaesu contributed to my
selection.
